The gardens and church are worth a visit though. I too would be mighty upset if I had paid the full entry fee for 4 adults. As a previous review has said, it takes no time at all to walk around. I must say that the food and coffee here was good and above the normal for NT properties. There is the usual NT shop selling all things NT at ridiculous prices along with a large indoor and outdoor cafe. The location, parkland and views around the area are beautiful. Probably not the best walk if you are pushing a buggy or have small children either. It is possible to walk it if you are fully mobile, a mobility bus is provided if required. Yes you have to pay to park if you are not a NT member. The car park is a fair distance from the house at the top of a long steep hill. They probably lose a fortune in entry fees through this.
